China Economic Research Series - province-level data on China

I noticed an interesting story in the news today about the demographic and economic problems in rural areas of China (Reuters: China's rural problems defy annual solution).

Seems like a good opportunity to remind SFU researchers that we have access to the China Economic Research Series -- a database filled with province-level time series such as...

  • Employed Persons of Rural Private Enterprises
  • Employed Persons of Urban Foreign-Owned Enterprises
  • Population With Junior Middle School Education - Male
  • Savings Deposit of Rural Households
  • Urban Households Annual Income From Wages

The China Economic Research Series is one of three CSMAR datasets provided via the SFU Library.

If you are researching China, the other three CSMAR datasets available at SFU may also be of interest:

  • China Listed Firm's Corporate Governance Research Database
  • China Stock Market Financial Statements Database
  • China Industry Research Database - Automobile
