With a possible Facebook IPO (initial public offering) hot in the news today, it seems like a good time to list a few of the ways you can research IPOs via the SFU Library's resources:
1. ThomsonOne - Investment Banking
Search all deals involving equities (IPOs, convertibles, follow-ons...) via the following path: Screening & Analysis >> Deals & League Tables >> Equity
Also try Market Views >> Deal Activity >> Equity
2. Bloomberg
Start with the IPO page to get to IPO news, reports, indices, and more.
3. FPinfomart.ca
For a focus on Canadian IPOs, choose the New Issues option on the left side of the screen.
4. LexisNexis
Includes publications such as Hoover's IPO Reports and SEC Prospectuses.
5. Books and eBooks via the SFU Library catalogue
Start with a subject search for Going public (Securities)
6. Articles in Business Source Complete
As with the SFU Library catalogue book search, start with a search for Going public (Securities) as a subject term.
Let me know if you have any questions!
